Championship Course #7 is inspired by Olympic #18 Par 4.
Inspiration: The 14th hole at the Olympic Club Lakeside Course in San Francisco, California was the inspiration for this par 4.
Details: This dogleg left is subtle, yet challenging, sloping severely and sending many a straight shot rolling into the trees. The approach shot is to an elevated green guarded by bunkers on both sides.
History: When Robert Trent Jones remodeled the Olympic Club in the early 1950’s, he used the trees in his design, making straight, accurate shots a must. The Olympic Club has hosted 4 US Opens, including the 1998 Open when Lee Janzen captured his 2nd Open title.
