The Open Course #6 is inspired by Pine Valley #12 Par 4.
Inspiration: This short par 4 is a tribute to the 12th hole at Pine Valley Golf Club, located in Clementon, New Jersey.
Details: Pine Valley is renowned for its numerous bunkers, which can be found in abundance on this hole. A long-iron or fairway-wood tee shot is required down the right side to avoid the bunkers on the left. Golfers will then be faced with a short-iron approach to a green guarded by bunkers on the left and right.
History: From Pine Valley’s beginning, hotelier and first-time course designer George A. Crump set some fairly idiosyncratic guidelines: no hole should be parallel to the next; no more than two consecutive holes should play in the same direction; players be able to see only the hole they were one; and the course should demand the use of every club in the bag.
