Championship Course – #7
The 14th hole at the Olympic Club Lakeside Course in San Francisco, California was the inspiration for this par 4.
PAR 4 | HCP 5
- Black: 418 yards
- Gold: 418 yards
- Silver: 402 yards
- Green: 385 yards
Details: This dogleg left is subtle, yet challenging, sloping severely and sending many a straight shot rolling into the trees. The approach shot is to an elevated green guarded by bunkers on both sides.
History: When Robert Trent Jones remodeled the Olympic Club in the early 1950’s, he used the trees in his design, making straight, accurate shots a must. The Olympic Club has hosted 4 US Opens, including the 1998 Open when Lee Janzen captured his 2nd Open title.
